Debt Management Fes
It is important to remember that every privately owned business throughout the UK that provides a service charges a fee, you wouldn’t expect to go to a restaurant and eat for free would you.
Debt management companies have two sets of debt fees, but the amount of fee changes with each debt management company that you speak to.COMPARE DEBT FEES
What are the debt management fees?
A set up fee – The debt management set up fee is used to set up the debt management plan for you, this involves speaking, writing, faxing and emailing all of your creditors to negotiate the debt management plan. This fee is normally your 1st months payment, but there are companies that will keep up to your first 6 payments, so be very careful.COMPARE DEBT FEES
A monthly management fee – This fee normally comes in the form os a percentage out of your monthly debt management payment. A company will normall keep around 17% out of you monthly debt management payment, so as an example: If your monthly payment is £250.00 then your debt management fee would be £42.50 so your creditors would see £207.50.COMPARE DEBT FEES
You will be please to know that we only keep you 1st months payment as out set up fee and we only keep £25.00 a month, no matter how much you are paying as our debt management fee.

Why do debt management companies charge fees?
Debt management companies have to charge debt management fees, if we didn’t we wouldn’t be able to pay our running costs including staff wages etc. However, I do not agree with debt management companies that are taking excessive upfront and monthly debt management fees, this is why we have capped all out debt management fees to £25.00 a month.
Why should I pay debt management fees?
You don’t have to pay debt management fees, you can either manage your creditors yourself or use a charity debt management company.
We charge debt management fees because we are dealing with your debts day in and day out until the debt is paid so although we charge debt management fees, if you break them down it works out at £0.83p a day, now that’s not bad for peace of mind, especially when a cup of coffee can cost you £2.00.

What about charity debt management companies?
Charitable debt management companies do work and they do not charge fees, but, you need to ask yourself a question, Where do charity debt management companies get there money from? - The answer is YOUR creditors.
Charity debt management companies can survive on donations from your creditors, so in turn charity organisations are charged with getting creditors money back as quickly as possible. From my experience when a charity organisation accepts a client paying a smaller amount every month, they try and raise that figure month on month to squeeze out of you as much money as they can.
Another thing to think about. If a creditor is donating £500K a year, who is that charity going to look after YOU or the company sending them £500k a year?COMPARE DEBT FEES
